[SPOILER ALERT]
I thought it was absolutely a fantastic episode. So what if they didn’t “make the ballsy move” and kill off Daniel? Daniel’s become a well-loved character and I, personally, was praying he didn’t end up dying in tonight’s episode, and I’m glad to see that he hasn’t. I honestly think that him not only being alive, but having more insight into who Emily really is is going to make the show more interesting. Plus, we still don’t truly know what exactly what went down on the beach.
Perhaps we’ll never truly know what the original plan was for this episode. I know that over the course of the first half of the season, a lot of the cast admitted that the writers were unsure of what they were going to do because of fan reaction, but I’ve read several interviews where they stated that, ultimately, they ended up going with Plan A for this episode. And, to be honest, it seems kind of ingenious. I really thought all along that it was going to be Daniel, and thought that up until the very moment that it was revealed to be Tyler.
The doors have now opened on Revenge. There’s so many places this story can go now, and there’s still another six episodes until the finale. If this was simply a sweeps episode, who knows what the writers could have planned for the finale?
I’m totally pleased and impressed by this episode of Revenge and am so glad I started watching this show. It’s incredible how good it has become.
